Anyone know a legit website that is free to your check credit score?

Here is the Question: Anyone know a legit website that is free to your check credit score?
I want to check my credit score but there are a lot of non-legit sites out there. Do you happen to know any legit sites that you’ve tried that is free and accurate?

Thanks in advance!
I meant to say FICO score.. Does anyone know legit websites for free for FICO score? I remembered before Wamu offered it but it’s no longer Wamu.

buildcredit.ifastnet.com – try this site. I use it to monitor my credit and also cleaned off some bad items from my credit report. You can apply for free initial plan and get your scores and reports for free.

No. Credit Karma offers free scores, but they are not FICO scores. WaMu became part of Chase, which charges for credit scores. Another company advertises free scores, but they require you to enroll in a service that costs more than a credit score before you can see the “free” score, so it is a worse deal than just paying for the credit score.

If you want your FICO score, you have to pay. Chances are that score you got from Wamu wasn’t a FICO score. It was probably a Fakko score — that’s what most third party monitoring services use.

When you get your free credit reports thru AnnualCreditReport.com, you can get your FICO score from Equifax for $8. You can also get FICO scores for Equifax and TransUnion at MyFico.com. Consumers can no longer get FICO scores for Experian.

The TransUnion and Experian sites sell Vantage scores — scale to 990 vs FICO’s 850.

CreditKarma.com offers a free score estimator based on your TransUnion score. It’s not FICO, but it’s kinda like FICO, give or take 50 points. Good enough if you are just curious.

Scores are not free – the usual charge is right around $7 from each of the three credit bureaus and FICO. Anyone who advertises a free credit score is banking on you forgetting to cancel the “free” trial membership in their monitoring service and the system is set up to help you “forget”

annualcreditreport.com is THE official free site for the legally-mandated access to one free credit report each year. FICO is different and you have to pay to get your FICO score. Bankrate.com has free estimators of your FICO score, as well as volumes of useful personal finance information.
