Here is the Question: How do I get my one year review at work?
I have been working at this company for 1 yr 4 mths and still have not received my 1 yr review. I have spoken to my boss over and over, he says he’s done with my review it’s just up to the CEO to approve it. He said she’s extremely busy. Everyone in the company has waited at least 6 months or more to get their reviews. I promised myself I would not let them get away with that much time. I have asked repeatedly and still nothing. I asked to speak to the CEO and again she’s busy. I have worked extremely hard at work and deserve a raise. They do not retroact the money so I’m getting tired of waiting. What should I do?

Talk to your HR person if you have one. Otherwise you have pretty much done what you can do….you cannot force them to give you a review and/or increase. Your only other option, unfortunately, is to find a new job where employees are valued enough to receive their reviews on time.
The only way to force this issue would be to threaten them with resignation, and be ready to walk away if they call your bluff.
I would demand it, it is ridiculous to have you wait because htey are busy, but especially so if they won’t make the raise effective for your year and reimburse you. You should bug him and the CEO or the CEO’s assistant every day until them, demand it, go and meet with them and tell them you will wait and just sit in their office until they give it to you.
It comes down to them not respecting you and giving you a timely reveiw that you deserve. If they can not do that, do you really want to work there anyways, what are you going to do next year? If they wait that long again you would have worked there 3 years for only 2 raises.
