BAD METHOD!!! WHAT IF THE PILES ARE GREATER??? Here’s the method I use: work out all the piles in binary and make sure they all have an even number of 1′s in each row(line them up) and if they don’t, then make it so they do. Otherwise, go second and keep doing this.
I’d say 2 even piles, say 3, 3. opponent: 3, 2me: 2, 2leads to easy endgame. if opponent takes a pile instead (3), I’d take 2. if opponent takes 2 (3, 1), I’d take the other pile.
what if when they finish their move and you dont know what to do next because there isnt a cheat for that. ex. 7 , 5 , 3 then they take 4 from the 7 pile so then its 3. 5, 3. what do you do then?
that is going to be difficult over youtube like this, but you could wiki binary numbers, or wiki the game of “nim” where you can also find an explanation.

you take the 5 coins in the middle and you have 2 equal piles left over of 3 and 3
