Our “advert” on there is just a quick copy of our Trade Mark, along with sector, then the currency and weather in our local area! What a joke! 1 minute max for a web updater to add. All public information.
I have written to them once only, a year ago,saying that it was not to my satisfaction and to remove immediately! On several forums, and with most scams, they say not to enter into any further communication, as their extensive legal team are only to happy to hear you are alive and well. The continuous invoices and letters are set to harrass and worry you…they have not sucessfully taken anyone to court and what legal jurisdiction are they working from anyway, Spain, Austria, Switzerland ( invoices posted from here)????
Six months on and a CD arrived in the post. I refused it and got a form from the local Post Office centre to say so. The ECG have reviewed their guide in Feb and now hey presto! They can assume I have renewed! Me, a bad debtor and they renew? So, another EUR995 has been added to this invoice! Bascially anyone can construct a large Database website can gather together a trade mark, company names, addess, web addresses and the like, and pass the web page off as an advert.
Medics were tricked in the past as they gathered another directory together. They will construct and ensnare until they are closed down….will re-appear once again…classic scam stuff. Raise awareness on all your social networking everyone!
Well, I live in Bosnia, and they sent the free advertising offer to my father’s small business. He doesn’t understand English so I read it to him and he said “Why not? It’s free after all.” They sent it repeatedly for 3 years with the same form (free advertising) so my father got used to sign the form and send it back without nagging me to translate it again for him. BUT the fourth year, there was a small print which said 980EUR in small print. The print is small enough that my old father couldn’t read it without serious effort. And even if he could read it, he wouldn’t understand it. But he signed it and sent it back as he usually did for 3 years before. Now they threathen him to sue him etc etc…
Also…there’s one more thing. He spent the most of his life in a former, communist Yugoslavia where such scams were nonexistant and you could trust people in general. No one ever tried to trick you like this back in those days. So he had no defense mechanism and awareness of such things.

This ECG organistaion is a complete scam to the European Network of small business. Some action is needed to put pressure on the Spanish governments to Stop and imprison these people who have set this up.
I cant believe this has been going on for some time now and very suprised at the british MP’S for letting this go on.
It clear to see that prosectuing the ECG isnt good enough.
Its time for the Government to imprison someone for this and to highlight this scam worldwide on TV.
I’ve got no sympathy.  I received this order form and it was perfectly obvious you had to pay. Can’t believe people are so stupid as to sign things without reading them.
These guys are really bad. Im getting threatening letters despite all my letters to everyone – it seems that the government / officials are not enforcing the laws properly !  Something more needs done.
These people are scum, I look forward to the day they are fined and shut down for good. They can send all the letters they like I’ll just carry writing back refusing to pay they’ll get bored before I do.
They are now operating under “expo-guide” and using the same tactics. In many cases the “fine print” is not even on the original form they send you but it somehow “appears” on the copy they send you back. In other cases it is very faint and can be easy to miss. They are scum. Don’t pay them, whatever you do.
I got a letter from them today Dec 09 for money and never even signed any forms. Had a phone call months ago from them and said I didn’t want to know but still got a invoice. They can dream on if they think they can bully me into paying. Als thier contact details to phone on letter are a dead number. TOTAL SCAM. Bit like British banks at the moment or are they british banks and this being a Brown’s back hander. (hehe).
Complete scam. They can not get adverts in the right heading. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING. They have been mentioned in Euro Parliament as complete con merchants and have been fined many times. Google all ECG links for Spanish Authorities to complain to.
